Biography:
Zibuyisile Banele Methula is an Office Administrator and a Laboratory Assistant at Nelson Mandela University (NMU), DSI-Mandela Nanomedicine Platform. She received her National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry from Vaal University of technology and Btech Chemistry, with a research project that focused on the synthesis of Biochar ZnO-Nanocomposite for water purification.
She worked as a Nanomedicine Ambassador at Nabio Consulting, under a Youth Development Program by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) in collaboration with the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA). As a nanomedicine ambassador, she specialized in scientific communication activities and promoting the use of indigenous languages to communicate science. She attended and participated in various nanomedicine webinars including the 10alamanos9 Festival hosted by the University of Barcelona and the Swiss NanoConvention 2021. She co-orchestrated the first Nanomedicine Youth Seminar (NANO4YOUTH 2021).
